St. Lucie County 4-H

4-H is Extension's educational program for youth, and is open to everyone between the ages of 5 to 18. Youngsters may participate through clubs, school enrichment programs or summer day camps. Some of the project areas 4-Her's learn about are: animal sciences, horticulture, sewing, natural resources, horsemanship, marine science, and wildlife. These programs are managed by Extension staff with the primary support of volunteers and parents from the community.

Through a "learn by doing" philosophy young people acquire knowledge and practical skills. 4-H activities build leadership qualities, a healthy self-image,   and teamwork.

If you are a "grown-up" 4-H'er or just enjoy working with young people, 4-H needs you! Become a 4-H volunteer leader.
