Since 1993, Ken Gioeli has served as the University of Florida’s Natural Resources Extension Agent for St. Lucie County. His areas of expertise include pesticide applicator training and natural resource management. Ken coordinates pesticide licensing examination and continuing education training programs for general certification as well as categories such as natural areas, aquatic, and right-of-way. He provides pesticide applicator training programs designed to teach licensed pesticide applicators how to protect people and the environment with a strong emphasis on water quality protection. His natural resource management extension programs are designed to teach homeowners and professional land managers how to manage wildlife, invasive species and other factors that impact the environment. Ken holds a master’s degree in Agricultural Education specializing in tropical biodiversity from the University of Florida, a graduate certificate in Environmental Education and Communications from the University of Florida, and a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Science Education specializing in biology from the University of Central Florida.
